Winter Chills: Lambasingi Hits 5°C

As December enters its third week, the intensity of winter has spiked sharply across the Telugu states. Cold winds blowing from the north have sent shivers through Telangana and the agency areas of Andhra Pradesh over the last two days. Specifically, in the Alluri Sitarama Raju district, famous as the 'Kashmir of Andhra', places like Lambasingi and Chintapalli have seen temperatures drop to single digits. Meteorological officials reported a minimum temperature of 5 degrees Celsius in Lambasingi today.
Telangana Freezes:
The situation is similar in the northern districts of Telangana. Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, and Sangareddy are reeling under cold wave conditions. Adilabad recorded the season's lowest temperature at 7.8 degrees Celsius. Even in Hyderabad city, night temperatures are hovering between 12-14 degrees. Dense fog in the early hours is causing severe inconvenience to commuters. With visibility dropping below 50 meters on highways, police have issued safety advisories for drivers.
Health Advisory:
The IMD has warned that cold conditions are likely to intensify over the next three days. Doctors advise the elderly, children, and asthma patients to avoid outdoor activities during early mornings and late nights. Due to poor visibility caused by thick fog, several flight services at Shamshabad and Gannavaram airports were delayed this morning. South Central Railway also reported delays in train schedules. People are seen huddled around bonfires to seek relief from the biting cold.
