The construction works of Andhra Pradesh's capital city, Amaravati, are progressing at a rapid pace. Following the formation of the alliance government in 2024, special focus has been laid on rebuilding the capital. In a significant development, the state government has issued orders releasing funds necessary for the construction of iconic structures such as the Secretariat, High Court, and Legislative Assembly. Additionally, the first tranche of the ₹15,000 Crore loan from the World Bank and Asian Development Bank (ADB) reached the state exchequer yesterday.
Target December 2027:

Addressing a review meeting with officials, he set a strict deadline to complete the construction of the main administrative buildings by December 2027. Infrastructure works such as roads, drainage, and electrification in the Seed Capital Area are reportedly 60% complete. The government is not only reviving works that were stalled for five years but is also aiming to develop Amaravati as a world-class Green City with international standards.
Real Estate Boom:
With the capital works gaining momentum, the real estate sector in the Vijayawada, Guntur, and Mangalagiri regions is witnessing a significant boom. Several international IT companies and educational institutions are expressing interest in setting up campuses in Amaravati. Officials are chalking out plans to showcase Amaravati as a prime investment destination in the upcoming Global Investors Summit. The timely payment of annuity to capital farmers and the development of returnable plots have also brought cheer to the local community.
